STEP A - SHADE MATCHING

1. The aesthetician will first assess the needs of the client, creating a teeth whitening plan that best fits each individual client. When you are happy with your proposed plan you will be asked to sign the Client Consent Form

2. Before the whitening process, we will record the color of the teeth using a shade guide to you the current color of your teeth. Your current shade will be recorded.

STEP B - PREPARATION

1. You will be asked to put on protective eye goggles.

2. We will apply a generous layer of lip protection cream your lips using a cotton bud.

3. You will then be instructed to insert our Comfort Cheek Retractor into your mouth with the lips comfortably along the outside rim. It is OK to swallow saliva during the treatment.

4. We will insert cotton rolls on either side of the frenum (inside of cheeks against the bottom teeth)

5. Blue gum dam protection will be applied to the upper and lower gums.

6. We will dry the teeth surfaces using cotton balls or gauze.

STEP C - APPLYING THE WHITENING GEL

1.  We apply a 2mm thick layer of whitening gel to the teeth to be whitened. Depending on your smile this may include a total of 16 or more of the upper and lower front teeth.

STEP D - LIGHT ACTIVATION

1. Once you are comfortable we will position the Accelerator lamp and activate the cold blue LED light.

2. After the treatment cycle is completed, the whitening accelerator will beep and the light will turn off automatically.

3. Between each cycle the access gel will be removed and teeth dried before re applying fresh gel.

STEP E - TREATMENT WRAP-UP

1. After the final cycle, we will wipe off the whitening gel from the surface of your teeth.

2. We will remove the cheek retractor and protective eyewear and ask you to rinse your mouth well.

STEP F - POST-TREATMENT

1. We use the shade guide to show you how many shades your teeth have whitened.

2. We give you a Post-Whitening Care Instruction Card.

OTHER REMINDERS

1. For some clients, especially those with teeth speckled with fluoride, the whitening may not look completely even following the treatment. Under close inspection, there may be small spots on the teeth that are lighter or darker than other parts of the tooth. The whitening gel will continue to penetrate and the teeth will obtain a more even whiteness and shine after 24 hours. This is due to the many layers in the structure of the teeth. We ask you to be patient and wait for the full effect to appear.

2.If you have visible cracks in your teeth, you should not undergo the treatment.

3. Teeth with medium to severe tetracycline stains, other antibiotic stains, or teeth speckled by fluoride may see a slight "rebound" or loss of some of the whitening results (one to two shades) in the 48 hours following the first treatment. The improvement in color will be stable after a second treatment.
